Eligibility
The Magic: the Gathering Belgium National Championship is an invitation-only event, open to citizens or permanent residents of Belgium who have won an invitation to Nationals through DCI ratings or from qualifying events such as Regional or City Championships.

Registration Requirements

To register, all participants must present one of the following forms of identification:
• A driver's license, or
• A passport, or
• A copy of a birth certificate and photo ID (school IDs are acceptable)

Registration starts at 9.00 on Friday the 26th

Format
3 Day National – 12 Rounds

Format
• Standard and Booster Draft
• 1 Shards of Alara, 1 Conflux, and 1 Alara Reborn booster pack will be used for drafting
• Deck lists are required
• Check http://www.thedci.com for Standard and Booster Draft format rules

Tournament Length
• Day 1 will consist of 3 rounds of Standard, 3 rounds of Booster Draft.
• Day 2 will consist of 3 rounds of Booster Draft, 3 rounds of Standard.
• Day 3 will consist of the Top 8 finals.
• 12 Swiss Rounds total, 60 minutes per round
• Top 8 single-elimination finals have no time limit; however, players are expected to play at a reasonable pace and finish their matches within 90 minutes.

Advancement
• All players may participate in all Swiss rounds
• After round 12 the top 8 players advance to the top 8 single-elimination finals

Top 8
• Standard format
• Top 8 matches will be best 3 of 5
• Losers of the semi-final matches will playoff to determine 3rd place.

Invitations
• The Top 4 players receive invitations to the 2009 World Championships.
• The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place players will form the National Team. The 4th Place player will be the alternate.

Notes
• 40K, REL Competitive
• Players are required to use the same Standard deck for day 1, day 2, and Top 8.
• All Universal Tournament Rules and Magic: the Gathering Floor Rules are in effect for this event unless specifically overruled by information in this Format Document

Genre une semaine après la fin des exams. Merci quoi... Comment je vais me faire démonter proprement en limité parce que j'aurais drafté 4 fois le format... ZzZ

t'as de la chance, l'année dernière les nats commençaient le jour après mon dernier examen (d'où la raison pour laquelle j'ai pris monored)

je reviens de San Francisco le matin du 26. et ensuite je passe les 3j au Couleur Café (20 ans = affiche énorme; http://www.couleurcafe.be/cc09_index.php?L=0). avec un peu de courage (c'est quand meme à coté de chez moi) j'arriverai à caser une draft asiat le samedi/dimanche matin/midi.
meme si j'étais encore loin d'etre qualif, j'suis quand meme vert. :no:

j'ai du mal à me remettre de cette date qui m'emmerde au plus haut point.
mais il y aura peut etre un point positif. c'est au Heysel. une photo de groupe devant l'Atomium devrait donc etre facilement envisageable

selon toute vraisemblance, t'as pas lu tes mails toi: Polype non plus ne pourra pas faire les Nats car il ne sera pas encore rentré des USA! quand on sais que le gusse est peut etre en train de réaliser sa meilleure année en terme de résultats à mtg, on peut facilement imaginer sa frustration de louper les Nats.

Pourquoi ont-ils fait ça aussi tôt ? Pour éviter que le standard ne change complètement ?

C'est pas glop pour tous ceux qui se sont investis ces dernières semaines. Mais bon... La location de la salle devait être moins chère ce jour là... Le point de vue du client on le voit rarement chez Hasbro.

pour Polype et moi, c'est juste déchatte. pour plein d'autres, c'est bonheur: ils peuvent aller à Werchter la semaine suivante, partir en vacances tout juillet... faut croire que le point de vue du client dépend... du client!
